Mainland's Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) and Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) signed the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) in Chongqing on June, 29 2010. Under the agreement, the two sides agreed to "gradually reduce and remove trade and investment barriers and create a fair environment". ECFA will promote Cross-Strait investments from manufacturing industries to the high value-added service industries. With China’s reform and opening up, its entry into WTO and the improvement of legal environment, policies and legislation on VC/PE has been developed from scratch. A basic legal framework has been established, which has laid a legal foundation for the growth of VC/PE in China. China Venture Capital Association has always been committed to promoting and improving the legislation of VC/PE funds so as to create a sound and sustainable development environment for VC/PE sector.
