Wei ZHOU
Wei Zhou is founding and Managing Partner of China Creation Ventures
since 2017.
Before starting China Creation Ventures, Wei was Managing Partner at
KPCB China and leads its China TMT investments since 2007. His focus
areas include internet, wireless, media and Fintech. Wei has led more
than 20 investments with many successful exits, including JD.com (NASDAQ
IPO: JD), JD Finance, VenusTech (Shenzhen IPO: 002439), Manzuo.com
(acquired by SuNing), ID5.com, CreditEase, Rong360, China Valley Mobile
Finance, Ximalaya FM, Miaopai Mobile Video, ULUCU (NEEQ: 837110),
Miaozhen Systems, Limei Mobile Ads, Asia Innovation Group, Tan Tan
Mobile Social, Meican.com, Scinor Water (acquired by TRCE: 300332), KJY
Water (NEEQ: 835159), Arrail Dental, etc.
Before joining KPCB China in early 2007, Wei was the CEO and chairman of
Shanghai Hanbo Tech Co., a leading e-payment solution provider and key
tech partner of China UnionPay. In addition, Wei held various senior
managerial and operational positions at Start Computer Group (SH:
600734) since 1994. While there, he directed teams focusing on e-payment
related product management, business development, corporate operation
and M&A, went through its startup stage, IPO process, and following
years of fast growth.
Wei has been honored as Fortune most influential Venture Capitalist,
CV-FT China leader Venture Capitalist, and ChinaVenture Best Venture
Capitalist. Wei serves as a governor of China Venture Capital and
Private Equity Association (”CVCA”).
Wei holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of
Pennsylvania and a bachelor of engineering degree from the University of
Electronic Science and Technology of China.
