Time : 14:00 –17:15pm September 7th Venue : Beijing Prime Hotel ( Please See the map below ) Ernst & Young, in partnership with China Venture Capital Association (CVCA), hosted a half-day strategic brainstorming session on “How to Create a Technology Hotbed in China – Lessons Learned from Silicon Valley and Israel” in Shanghai on April 6, 2005. More than 30 leading venture capitalists from China, the United States, and Israel respectively discussed and shared the experience, the best practices and lessons learned in creating a sustainable technology hotbeds in their respective markets.This event is organized to release the key findings from this session to CVCA members and the public. A round table discussion and cocktail reception will follow the release. |

The discussion will focus on the following issues: · Is the experience of Silicon Valley and Israel applicable to China? · The respective role of VCs, governments and entrepreneurs in creating technologies hotbeds in China; · Impact of venture capital on start-ups; · The role of venture capital on nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship; · Ways to commercialize technological advances made in company labs, educational/research institutions; and · The role of CVCA as an industry association in bridging its members, the government, and entrepreneurs in creating an environment that is conducive to the development of venture capital and entrepreneurship. 15:45 – 16:15 Q&A Session 16:15 – 17:15 Cocktail Reception The event will be conducted in English and simultaneous translation will be provided. |
